KEVIN COSTNER & MODERN WEST WILL VISIT SUNSET STATION: Kevin Costner & Modern West will ride into Las Vegas with their Tales of Yellowstone Tour at Sunset Station on Saturday, Nov. 6 and perform under the stars at the Sunset Amphitheater at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $42.50. Since their inception in 2007, Kevin Costner & Modern West have toured the globe. Fronted by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Costner, the band released its critically acclaimed debut album, “Untold Truths,” in 2008. The album included three singles, “Superman 14,” “Long Hot Night” and “Backyard.” The band followed with 2010’s “Turn It On,” 2011’s “From Where I Stand,” and 2012’s “Famous for Killing Each Other: Music From and Inspired by the History mini-series Hatfields & McCoys.”

LIZZO SET TO RING IN THE NEW YEAR AT VIRGIN HOTELS: Grammy Award-winning singer and rapper, LIZZO, will headline New Year’s Eve at 10 p.m. at Virgin Hotels. She will bring her chart-topping hits to The Theater for a one-night-only performance, closing out the year as she counts down the final seconds of 2021 with the audience. Evening includes a performance by special guest DJ Sophia. Tickets start at $99.50. Since entering the music scene, Lizzo has received acclaim for her female empowering lyrics, flautist skills, charismatic performance style and collaborations with artists like Cardi B, Missy Elliot, Ariana Grande and others. In 2019, Lizzo earned her first No. 1 Single with “Truth Hurts” on the Billboard Hot 100 and hasn’t looked back.

‘FANTASY’ AT LUXOR HONORS ITS 22ND ANNIVERSARY: Last week, the female revue Photo: Bryan Steffy“Fantasy” at the Luxor celebrated its 22nd anniversary and most awarded year in the show’s history. The production also revealed two new numbers, including a rousing new finale set to “Last Dance.” To commemorate the occasion, Fantasy’s stunning showgirls posed for photographs on stage in the Atrium Showroom and shared a sneak peek of their new 2022 “Gold Standard” calendar. It was also revealed MGM Resorts Foundation is the recipient of an annual donation from the calendar sales.

MULBERRY STREET PIZZERIA OPENED AT RESORTS WORLD: Mulberry Street Pizzeria has opened at Resorts World Las Vegas featuring its signature New York pizza. The opening marks the first out-of-state location for Richie Palmer’s Beverly Hills institution, which has been serving authentic pizza by the slice as well as whole pies since 1991. While the restaurant’s menu highlights an array of choices, the focus is on New York pizza, which is made with a characteristically large hand-tossed thin crust that is crisp, yet pliable enough to be folded in half to eat. In the next few weeks, the new location will also offer the exclusive Resorts World All-Day Breakfast Pizza which is topped with egg, cheese, lyonnaise potatoes and onions. During its 30 years of business, Mulberry Street Pizzeria amassed a following including notable celebrities who have donated memorabilia. Highlights include “Rocky” and “Rambo” posters signed by Sylvester Stallone, a “Terminator” poster signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, posters from “Thor: Ragnorak” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” signed by the casts, a UFC championship belt from UFC president Dana White, a championship belt from Manny Pacquiao, and numerous signed celebrity headshots. Mulberry Street Pizzeria is daily from 11 a.m. until late and located in The District across from Zouk Nightclub.

LAS VEGAS DAYS RODEO RETURNS TO THE PLAZA’S CORE ARENA: Las Vegas Days (formerly known as Helldorado Days), an annual cowboy-themed event celebrating Las Vegas’ Wild West history, will return to the Core Arena at the Plaza downtown with two nights of rodeo events, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12-13 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. In addition, the Plaza and Las Vegas Days are hosting a rodeo-themed coloring contest for Southern Nevadan children in grades kindergarten through six. Sponsored by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial and the Plaza, the rodeo will feature eight events each day at the Core Arena, the Plaza’s outdoor equestrian center. Fully sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. the Las Vegas Days Rodeo will feature bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, breakaway, and bareback riding, with prize purses totaling $45,000 and custom belt buckles for champions. Admission to the rodeo is free. Advanced registration is required and available at lvdexperience.com.

FASHION SHOW BECOMES DOG FRIENDLY – HOLDS DOG ADOPTION EVENT: The Fashion Show Las Vegas (FSLV) shopping destination on the Strip has announced it will become a dog friendly property. Starting Friday, Oct. 22, in honor of National Make A Dog’s Day, shoppers will have the opportunity to explore the destination with their furry friend. To commemorate the new dog friendly status, FSLV will host an adoption event in partnership with local organization, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society on Friday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. To further cement FSLV as the ultimate doggy destination, guests can find dog merchandise at various retailers including Forever 21, Build A Bear Workshop, Dillard’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Dick’s Sporting Goods and more. Additionally, FSLV will continue its dog friendly efforts with the launch of a designated pet area in the coming months.

VAN GOGH EXHIBIT AT SHOPS AT CRYSTALS WILL HOST YOGA CLASSES: The original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Las Vegas is partnering with America’s kefir company, Lifeway Foods, to bring yoga under “The Starry Night.” The 35-minute classes with a certified yoga instructor will begin Friday, Oct. 29 and take place within the multi-sensory and all-encompassing Van Gogh experience at the Shops at Crystals. Each workout is choreographed in harmony with the music, sounds, light and moving images from Van Gogh’s vast catalogue of masterpieces including The Starry Night. After the class, participants are invited to stay and experience the art surrounding them one more time. All Gogh with Lifeway® Kefir Immersive Yoga participants will receive a nutritious Lifeway Kefir snack to recover from their yoga session. Guests also may stay in the exhibit following the class to view the exhibition. Classes will be held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Lighthouse on Level 3 at the Shops at Crystals. Tickets are $54.99 and participants need to bring their own fitness mat.

ELLIS ISLAND’S FRONT YARD HOLDS HALLOWEEN EVENTS: The Front Yard at Ellis Island is embracing the spooky season with movies, Fear Garden and specialty drinks. Reservations for the themed events are available at Open Table Experience. There will be a free screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 8:30 p.m. with roaming live actors and Rocky Horror props provided to each table. Guests who dress as a character from the movie have the chance to win a prize. On Saturday, Oct. 30, The Front Yard will host screenings of the fan-favorite movie “Hocus Pocus” at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. served up with a side of brunch. The brunch menu items will be available for purchase along with specialty themed cocktails. Guests can dress as a character for a chance to win prizes. In the evening it will be Fear Garden in the Beer Garden kicking off at 7 p.m. with Halloween ghosts and ghouls with tarot card readings, magicians, balloon artists, a dance floor and live entertainment provided by a DJ all night long. The Front Yard’s a la carte menu and open bar packages will be available in addition to specialty Halloween cocktails like the Hocus Pocus, Rocky Horror and Vampire Bite.

WINK WORLD AT AREA15 PLANS WEEK-LONG HALLOWINK: “Wink World: Portals Into The Infinite” at AREA15 is holding HalloWINK, a week-long Halloween costume party beginning Monday, Oct. 25 through Monday, Nov. 1, noon to midnight. Guests who dress in the daily theme will receive a discounted $11 ticket to Wink World. The themes include Industrial Industry Night, Everything Glows, Winkster Wednesday, Throwback – best 80s look, Fantasy Friday, Space Saturday, HalloWINK, and Hangover Party. Wink World is a 1,500-square-foot experience taking the entertaining fusion of whimsy, color, art, and technology from music creator Chris Wink, who was co-founder of Blue Man Group.

LIL WAYNE HEADLINES DRAI’S ‘MATRIX’ THEMED HALLOWEEN WEEKEND: For Halloween weekend, Drai’s Nightclub on the roof is going with three nights of Matrix” themed parties. The weekend will be headlined by a concert by Lil Wayne on Saturday, Oct. 30. Drai’s Halloween weekend will also feature performances by BET award-winner Jeezy on Friday, Oct. 29. Drai’s resident DJ and legendary music producer, DJ Franzen will keep the party going on Sunday, Oct. 31 for a special SunDrais experience on Halloween night. Five-time Grammy Award-winner Lil Wayne, known as “Weezy” to his fans, is known for hits like “A Milli” and “Go DJ.” His newest solo album, “Funeral,” debuted No. 1 on the 2020 Billboard Charts, becoming Lil Wayne’s fifth chart-topping album. He released a collaborative album with Rich the Kid entitled “Trust Fund Babies” this month.

‘TEASE: A BURLESQUE REVUE’ RETURNS TO THE STAGE: After 20 months away, the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s quarterly burlesque spectacle “TEASE: A Burlesque Revue” will return to the stage on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. Featuring the best of Las Vegas burlesque talent (and a few special guests), the show is a celebration of Las Vegas burlesque, past and present. The show is returning in its new venue, The Space, a community-driven, charity-based arts complex. Tickets are $20/$30/$40. The lineup includes such personalities as Neon, who was seen in Usher’s 2021 Las Vegas residency, Charlie Quinn Starling, “The Jack of All Trades and the Mistress of Fun,” Sinjyn, 2008 Best Boylesque winner, and will feature Tiffany Carter, burlesque legend and Miss Nude Universe 1975. Carter began her burlesque career at the infamous Pink Pussycat in Hollywood, and toured the U.S., Canada, and Japan from the late 1960s through the 1980s.The Burlesque Hall of Fame is the world’s only museum dedicated to preserving the art of burlesque. It is located at 1027 S. Main St, #110, and currently open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $15 ($12 with Nevada ID; $10 for students, military, and seniors).

PINKBOX DOUGHNUTS® CELEBRATES HALLOWEEN ALL MONTH: With the spooky season upon us, Pinkbox Doughnuts® is celebrating for the entire month through Oct. 31 with a fearsome lineup of doughnuts available at all seven Las Vegas area locations. NEXT OSCAR’S DINNER SERIES PLANNED AT THE PLAZA: Former Las Vegas Mayor and mob attorney, Oscar B. Goodman will hold his popular Oscar’s Dinner Series at Oscar’s Steakhouse in the Plaza on Wednesday, Nov. 17, with cocktails in the lounge at 6 p.m. followed by dinner in the glass domed dining room at 7 p.m. The special three-course plated dinner paired with red and white wines as well as the signature Oscar Goodman Martini will have Goodman recalling stories from his time as an attorney for alleged mobsters. His legendary wit and humor make these historical tales entertaining. At November’s dinner, entitled “Anatomy of an Assassination – The Trial of the Century,” Goodman will recall the assassination of U.S. District Judge John H. Wood, Jr., the first federal judge to be assassinated in the country, and the trial that ended with the acquittal of his client, Jimmy Chagra who was accused of hiring actor Woody Harrelson’s father to murder the judge. Tickets to the dinner series are sold as tables for parties of two people ($300), four ($600) and six ($900).

RAPPEL DOWN VIRGIN HOTELS FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada has a novel way to have fun while raising needed funds for its valuable financial literacy programs for local K-12 students. Junior Achievement is partnering with Over the Edge, a company helping nonprofit partners with urban rappelling activities, to present the Over The Edge event encompassing rappelling down the Opal Tower at Virgin Hotels on Saturday, Nov. 6. The rappelling experience will be a 178-foot controlled descent of the 16-floor Opal Tower at Virgin Hotels. All participants will receive training prior to rappelling and will be provided with harnessing gear. Time slots are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are several rappelling options. With “Toss Your Boss,” employees can set a goal and fundraise to get their boss to “go over the edge” of the hotel. At least $2,000 is recommended. Individuals can rappel by raising at least $1,000, and they also can sponsor a COVID first responder to join them on their descent by raising another $500 for a total of at least $1,500.

TIVOLI VILLAGE HOLDS MORE HALLOWEEN EVENTS: Tivoli Village has a roster of Halloween season events. On Friday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tivoli Village and Fit4Mom Las Vegas invite Southern Nevada families to experience a safe Kids’ Trunk or Treat evening with trunk or treating throughout the lifestyle center. Decorated vehicles and retailers onsite will offer candy and more. On Saturday, Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. to midnight Tivoli Village and El Dorado Cantina are inviting guests to a Día de los Muertos celebration featuring special food vendors, margarita bars and drink specials. In addition, the restaurant will offer face painting, a kids’ stage, bounce house and live entertainment by Mariachi bands, folkloric dancers and more. On Halloween night Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Tivoli Village’s Piazza, world-renowned designer David Tupaz and The Las Vegas Fashion Council will present Halloween Couture 2021 “Carnival in Venice.” Guests are invited to enjoy a costume contest as well as an evening of dancing featuring music from the 80s and 90s by international DJs Jon Tupaz of Faces Disco Manila and Mike J. PKWY TAVERN OPENS SIXTH LOCATION: The PKWY Tavern brand has opened its sixth neighborhood sports bar location PKWY Decatur at 4930 W Flamingo (Decatur and Flamingo) in the former Ricardo’s location. The existing 7,800-square-foot structure has been remodeled to house a full bar, built to hold 50 beers on tap, 200 canned and bottled beer options, two spacious dining rooms with 60 TVs, seating options for both small and large parties and separate private dining room for events, meetings and celebrations accommodating up to 450 guests.

Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood started celebrating hockey season games with a signature cocktail, the Golden Mule, inspired by Vegas’ home team this month. The $12 handcrafted drink has vodka, St. Germain, mango puree, pineapple juice and fresh lime juice, topped with ginger beer. Piero’s Italian Cuisine is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month by donating $1 from each oyster sold throughout the month of October to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Landini’s Pizzeria at 9440 W. Russell Rd. will award free pizza once a month for a year in honor of National Pizza Day in October. Guests who purchase an 18-inch pizza in person are entered into a raffle through Oct. 31 to win free cheese pizza once a month for an entire year. Grand prize winner will be announced and notified on Nov. 1.
