Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings

With Super Bowl Sunday right around the corner, add a healthy option to the spread with my Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings.Buffalo wings are a must have for any football fan, but these game day favorites can steer you away far from any progress youve made since the beginning of the year.Dont throw all your New Years Resolutions out the door just for a Sunday Football game.Instead, use an air fryer, and stick to that low carb or keto diet that youve worked so hard on!

You might be surprised that these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are keto-friendly. Thats because most chicken wings recipes are high in sugar. You know those teriyaki wings? Yup, those are definitely not fit for a low carb diet. But lucky for you, buffalo sauce is low in sugar, and no one watching the game will even notice!

No one has to know that these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are a healthier option, but I find it fun to break the news to my guests after they express how much they love the wings. But then again, they shouldnt expect any less from me! I do find that sharing healthy adaptations to otherwise unhealthy foods is a great way to spread the healthy message to your closest family and friends. They probably would be shocked to think that chicken wings can still be on the plate if youre trying to watch what you eat.

How to Make Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings

Making these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are just as easy as popping the store-made variety in the oven, and probably save more time and energy as opposed to picking up some that are catered. But what I find best about making these wings is that you know each and every ingredient that goes into it, instead of a list of unpronounceable ingredients on the back of a bag.

First, you start by drizzling avocado oil, and then you season with some basic ingredients you probably already have in your spice cabinet: paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. While those are cooking in the air fryer, its time to make the sauce.

If youve ever wondered about how to make buffalo sauce, after you try my version you wont even need to ever look for another recipe. The sauce is actually just butter and Franks Red Hot Sauce(affiliate link),so theyll be finger lickin good with a kick of heat.

A Note About Cooking Times

Some people get very particular about their chicken wings. You will find those that love drumettes, or those that only go for the flats, and then there are those that want the full wing where you get both a drumette and a flat. Depending on your favorite, just make sure to adjust the cooking times in the air fryer. In my photos show, I have the whole wing, but if you are cooking drumettes and flats separately, make sure to reduce the cooking time noted in the recipe. Whichever way you like it, these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings will come out with the crisp and crunch that all football fanatics will love!

Serving Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings

What I love about buffalo wings is that they are typically served with celery and carrots, which is already a healthy option in itself! The crisp texture and cool flavor of those veggies really help to offset the heat of the wings, and its a great way to get in a dose of fiber and nutrition while youre at it. Fiber helps to clean the digestive system, and we all know that carrots contain beta carotene for healthy eyes. If youre a football fan, youre going to want those eyes to be sharp to catch those game day plays!

Make sure to keep this recipe handy because your friends and family will probably want to taste it again for every Football Sunday! For more recipes for Super Bowl Sunday, check out this post.
